Career prospects
Permanent or freelance teacher of Elementary Music Pedagogy (EMP) at a music school: work in parent-child groups, early music education with pre-school children, music education projects at schools and with older people / in combination with the main subject: leading string, wind, singing classes etc.

What is behind the profile?
Working with people who have little previous experience and who are yet to discover and explore their potential for musical expression: this requires artistically sensitive and pedagogically professional teachers. The EMP profile prepares students for a demanding and varied job. Actively creating music with children, young people or senior citizens: this creates strong and lasting experiences - for learners and teachers alike. The study profile is as versatile as the professional field.

Important building blocks are: Physical experience/movement/dance, percussion, music theatre, voice and speech formation, extensive and regular teaching practice. The teaching of music pedagogical skills goes hand in hand with the development of one's own artistic expressiveness. We understand movement/dance, speaking/singing and playing instruments as expressive media that music teachers should discover for themselves and use in their teaching. The profile concludes with a performance that we design ourselves.

What is special about the profile?   
Musical learning processes are closely connected with movement and dance. They take on a prominent role in EMP and are consciously shaped artistically in the profile. Elementary music education takes place in different contexts with different people: in the kindergarten, in the school, in the music school, in the youth centre, in the concert hall, in the old people's home; with the focus on musical learning, with the focus on increasing the quality of life, with the focus on meeting the special needs of people with impairments etc. This diversity is reflected in the different offers of teaching practice as well as in the elective possibilities of the teaching projects. Psychological case supervision also provides specific competence in leading groups.
