The "Music Ambassadors" initiative, funded by the Schleswig-Holstein Teacher Training Alliance, is part of the MHL's overarching teacher recruitment strategy. It aims to develop a sustainable strategy for recruiting and promoting young talent in the field of teacher training at the MHL. Students are at the heart of the initiative as important role models and advisors. A coordination office has been strategically developing the initiative since April 2024 in close consultation with lecturers, students and the MHL administration, as well as various external cooperation partners (ALB, KMB.SH).
Focus: Addressing school pupils and prospective students
The measure involves students as music ambassadors on three levels:
1. Music ambassadors at schools
Students visit general education schools and report on (music) teacher training as part of study projects or career and study orientation.
- January 2025: Student projects at schools in Kiel and 中国足球彩票
- March 2025: BSO Day at LMG Uetersen
- April 2025: BSO Evening at Nordkolleg Rendsburg for participants in programmes to promote young musical talent in Schleswig-Holstein
2. Music ambassadors in the digital space
Since June 2024, students have been providing insights into their studies in the digital space (social media), in particular through the Instagram channel @mhl.lehramt.
3. Music ambassadors at the MHL
Students at the MHL are available as contact persons for prospective students and, as part of a curricular interdisciplinary project and in close cooperation with lecturers, help to design and further develop various formats for study information and orientation.
- (Digital) information events on the various study programmes ("Music Education" / "MusicPlus")
- Weekly online preparatory courses (during the semester)
- Compact preparatory weekend for the aptitude test
- Open day (MHL OPEN HOUSE)
Central: Network maintenance & formation
Another central component of the measure is the expansion and intensification of networks with multipliers in the field of music education in Schleswig-Holstein. The coordination office works closely with various partners and existing networks:
- MusiS – Music in Schools
- State programme "Future Schools in the Digital Age"
- Competence Centre for Music Education Schleswig-Holstein (KMB.SH)
- State Youth Ensembles of the Schleswig-Holstein State Music Council
- Study Preparation Training (SVA) of the State Association of Music Schools
